Terry Cato is a dynamic woman of God who accepted Christ at an early age. She embodies the entrepreneur and community volunteer spirit. An avid reader, for as long as she can remember, she has always had a love for reading and writing. No Longer a Bridesmaid! is a memoir that chronicles the seven years that Terry was single and preparing herself to be a wife and mother. When she came of age and decided that she wanted to be married, she soon realized that she did not have any positive examples of what a successful marriage looked liked – everyone close to her had experienced divorce. One of her cousins gave her a book that encouraged singles to begin preparing themselves for marriage while they are single. Thus, Terry began her journey of preparation, healing, and deliverance.
Terry attended the University of Southern Mississippi and obtained her undergraduate degree in marketing and a master’s degree in sports administration from the United States Sports Academy. She obtained a Diploma in Practical Theology from Azusa World Ministries Training Institute; and has worked in the professional sports and non-profit industries. Terry is married to Lloyd; they have two daughters and one son and reside in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Tell us a little about yourself. I’m a born again Christian who accepted Christ at an early age. I was born and raised in the church and like the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32), strayed from my faith only to find that true fulfillment and purpose comes through being connected to the source, Jesus Christ. I’ve always been an avid reader and writer. I vividly remember writing sentences in my coloring books describing what I saw on the page before I began coloring.
What was your motivation behind this project? While attending a marriage enrichment class at my church, and hearing about the struggle that many single women face as they wait for their God ordained husband, I was compelled to share my testimony of 7 years of preparation for my husband.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? The goal of “No Longer a Bridesmaid!” is to encourage and inspire other single women to begin preparing themselves for their husband and to not lose hope while they are in their season of singleness.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? Some of my favorite authors include: Maya Angelou, Terry McMillian, BeBe Moore Campbell, Danielle Steele, Kim Lawson Roby & Jackie Collins
