Why do I call this blog “Putting on the New”?
While sitting in Bible study one day, the words from Ephesians 4:24 really stood out, “… and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.”
The new self. A new life. A new approach.
But what does the “new self” look like? What does it mean when we’re still faced with challenges and problems?
One reason I started this blog was to talk about our walk with God, our Christian life which has been filled with continual lessons, seeking God, studying His word, wrapping our heads around the awesomeness of His love and what He did for us, and figuring out how to live in the way that He wants us to.
- The new self doesn’t mean we obsess over our mistakes. It means we learn from them.
- The new self means we’re not perfect. We can’t be. And that’s okay.
- The new self means that we all have a unique story, but each story can teach universal lessons.
We will share our life lessons and thoughts here, and I hope you’ll join us in commenting, praying, and sharing yours as well.
