The Need for Transformation

The Need for Transformation

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will (Romans 12:2) NIV.

For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters (Romans 8:29) NIV.

Transformation is and has been the plan of God since the beginning. It is one of the most important aspects of Christian life. It’s not just important for our own growth and development as believers but it also gives God the opportunity to introduce us to a higher, more meaningful and deeper understanding of our relationship with Him. It’s a process that involves graduating from one dimension of living to a superior one and from one level of experience to a higher one through acquisition of new information which can only be acquired through the word of God.

It helps us to become our authentic selves – the people who God created us to be. Since we come to God as we are when we get saved, God begins His work in us. He turns us over to the Holy Spirit for transformation who in turn uses the word to change us inwardly.

For us to remain in victory, transformation must be pursued. It’s a divine mandate upon us so that we can be able to fulfill our divine purposes on earth. Transformation cannot take place by default, we must work in partnership with the Holy Spirit and be willing to change. Since it involves the word of God, our spiritual diet must change. This will mean cutting ties with the world and embracing the things of the kingdom of God.

Transformation is God’s master plan to change us into becoming more like His Son Jesus. It’s God’s way of maturing a believer. When we embrace transformation, we find rest in Christ Jesus and life begins to make sense. Our perception towards life change and we begin to see, understand and do things as God does.

  1. I liked your thoughts on transformation and becoming authentic. Reminds me of our blog title-Putting on the New. It also reminds me to come empty and want to be filled by the Holy Spirit.
