Happy New Year From All of Us at Putting on the New

Happy New Year From All of Us at Putting on the New

One of the things I love best about this blog is the writers! They each have a unique perspective and different opinions and yet, they all have a heart for Jesus. I love hearing their stories and learning about the things that inspire them. I’ve enjoyed the last few posts where they’ve talked about choosing a word for the year, something that they will focus on and use to get closer to God. I’ve never done this, but their posts have inspired me to think about adopting this practice, also.

I’m like a proud mama with these writers, who are so talented. I marvel at how God makes us all different, we have such varied lives and experiences, and yet here we are all Christian sisters.

For 2016, I hope you, dear reader, where ever you are now, will come along with us for the ride. This site is over two years old now and has hundreds and hundreds of posts already, so there is a lot here. Chances are you came here through a web search or social media shout out. Navigating our site might seem intimidating, but it’s easy. Here’s some ways you can read our posts and connect with us.

Newsletter!

The easiest way to get a weekly update of all the posts we’ve written. It comes neatly to your inbox and shows a snippet from each post. Signing up is easy and we never share your info. You can do it here.

Popular Posts

Over to the right you’ll see a “Popular Posts” box with links from posts that readers have viewed most in the last 24 hours. This list changes every day, so be sure to check it out each time you’re here.

Popular Posts This Month

Way down on the bottom (go ahead and scroll… I’ll wait) is a box for popular posts that have remained that way for the last 30 days.

Our Writers

At the right you’ll see a list of our writers. Each one has a link with their name (which takes you to all of their posts) and one to their latest post. You can also find out more about them all here.

Topics

There are certain themes that seem to be common in each of our lives, isn’t there? We’ve tried to group some of our posts under these themes, like bible verses, life lessons, hope, joy, and what it’s like to live this walk with our lord.

And sometimes, we struggle with our faith. We know you do, too. It’s part of the relationship we have with God, and even in our struggles we know He teaches us.

We Want to Pray for You

We are a praying group of women. I have called these lovely ladies my prayer warriors. When I have struggled and asked for prayers I have received comfort in knowing that they have talked to God about me. What a blessing! We want to do this for you, too. If you have a prayer request please let us know.

Comments? Questions?

What do you want to see here? What works or doesn’t on the design of this blog? What posts do you love, or not love? What is your feedback? I want to hear from you. Feel free to share your thoughts any time.

Make 2016 a Year Where You Grow in Your Faith

Being in a relationship with God means that we don’t always have the answers. We might rarely have them! I feel that way more often than not. At times we might cry out to God in confusion or hurt or even anger. Other times we might feel so blessed and happy that we thank him again and again. It’s all a process and we simply want to grow in our faith and encourage each other. We want you to be a part of it!

Many blessings to you for 2016. Thank you for reading and sharing our posts!

Happy New year

  2. Cherie, I’ve really enjoyed your post today, and I must say how thanksful I am for the opportunity to be part of this blog. Several of my fellow participants here are friends I’ve “known” online for years like Laura, Janet, and Jean, and I’ve been blessed to have actually met Patti on a number of occasions.

This is the first year I haven’t actively sought a word for the year, but one is niggling at the back of my mind: PERSEVERE – and at this time in my life – it seems pertinent. I guess that means I DO have a word for 2016 🙂

  3. I am so happy to have you here, Peg! And isn’t it an interesting time when we can come together as a group online like this?

I like the word Persevere. I’m still contemplating mine. I think I’ll do it this year.
