Interview With Putting on the New Writer Paula Mowery

Meet the Writers

Paula Mowery is a pastor’s wife, mom to a college student, author, acquiring editor, and speaker.  She began writing here with this post and right from the start she showed what an amazing spirit and heart for God she has. I’m so thrilled to have her here and so honored that she shares her thoughts with us.

Enjoy this short interview.

Which Bible verse do you find yourself going to most often and why?

I seem to go to Jeremiah 29:11. That verse encourages me that no matter what trials may come or even if I mess up, God’s plan for me is still intact. If I feel lost in the shuffle, He’s not. The King James Version of that verse begins with the fact that God knows the thoughts He thinks towards me. Wow. God of the universe thinks about me.

What’s your favorite way to connect with God?

I love those moments when I am studying God’s Word in the quietness of my little office space, and the Spirit illuminates a verse or passage for me. I know at that moment that God is giving me His wisdom and showing me how to apply His Word to my life. There’s nothing like that intimate moment in time.

What advice would you give your younger self?

I would definitely seek a deeper walk with the Lord sooner. I really didn’t learn that I could connect with God so intimately and learn from Him at an early age. If I had known that as my younger self, I wonder how much closer I could be to the Lord? I wonder what mysteries He could have already revealed? But, I go from here and soak in as much as possible.

For I know the thoughts that I think
