Learning to Trust

Learning to Trust

A couple months ago my husband started talking to a place about another job. Well, at first they offered it to someone else. All this time I told him to put it into God’s hands.  Really, what else can you do? Weeks went by and he didn’t hear anything and then he got an email. He was offered the position. Once he accepted the position then things kicked into high gear. Things were moving along smoothly until they weren’t. You know those types of snags that happen that make you want to rip your hair out. We got down to a week before our move. I’m talking like the moving truck was booked and house was almost packed. One major problem. We didn’t have a house. We thought we had one, but then they weren’t going to be finished with remodeling in time.

Can you say panic mode a little?  We got down to a few days before we moved before we found a place. A lot of times it comes down to the wire before we see how God is moving. It isn’t that he’s not moving in the situation, it’s just that He’s moving behind the scenes. Romans 8:28 “And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

In situations like this it helps us to fully rely on Him. What else can you do? There’s nothing else really you could do. When doors seem to be shutting, that’s when we need to get on our knees and seek Him first and trust that everything will work out.

Have you had times when all the doors were closing and it didn’t look like everything would work out?

  1. I’ve had several moments like this. It’s easy to think God has forgotten us when we don’t “hear” from Him. When I’m feeling those “where are you?” God moments, I’ve learned to take a step back, pray, and trust that He’s there working.

Thanks for sharing this, Allyson 🙂
