Sunday Verse: John 1:16

Sunday Verse: John 1:16

For a long time, I didn’t understand the real concept of blessings. Things were rough in my early years, and as a result I just kind of thought God was ignoring me. It’s only now, years and years later, I see the blessings I didn’t see then.

This insight also changes the way I look at things today. I know that I probably miss the majority of blessings that God gives me. I’m focused on other things at times. I think sometimes “I’m not getting what I want” and so I don’t feel the blessings that are there, holding me up and keeping me strong.  But now, I know they are there.

My prayers today include the blessings I know must be in my life but for whatever reason I just can’t see. And this verse helps me remember that.

“From the fullness of his grace, we have received one blessing after another.”
John 1:16

  1. I like this verse also. Thinking of our blessings is the cure for sorrow. It’s not unusual for it to take time to recognize this. In my life, God has helped me see the light bulb.

  2. It is not difficult to picture that light bulb above your head because you show us your faith all the time. You help me remember this very verse!
